ANTHEM PAGEDuring its 50th Reunion luncheon at the school on October 10, 2007, Cretin's Class of 1957 presented a DVD recording of a new anthem, "The Halls of Cretin-Derham." Reunion Chairman Phil McLaughlin introduced the anthem by explaining that most colleges and universities and many high schools have two forms of school song, a rouser or "fight song" for sports events and pep rallies, and a hymn or anthem for more formal occasions, such as graduations and alumni gatherings. CDH inherited Cretin's spirited old "Rouser," but our high school has never had an anthem. The Class of 1957 presented "The Halls" to CDH with the hope that this new anthem will contribute to the rich blend of the Cretin-Derham culture and become a part of the Class of '57's legacy. The photos accompanying the anthem on this DVD represent only the Class of 1957. Another version of the DVD could include photos representing our school's long history before and after 1957. or to Phil or put them on the blog. This should help us to get acceptance.
